Once Week 1’s initial shock wears off, reality sets in: systems designed to help job seekers are often frustrating and inefficient.

This week, I spent countless hours trying to register for unemployment, attend CareerLink orientations, and explore resources — none of it was easy.

1. Government & Job Assistance Websites Are Overcomplicated

Applying for assistance should be simple, but in practice, it’s a maze. Too many job-related websites have multiple logins, unclear instructions, and poorly designed navigation. Information is scattered, making it difficult for users to find real help when they need it most.
