First, thank you for reading and commenting.

I have empathy for anyone suffering from addiction. My family has been ravaged by additction- but none to legally prescribed drugs.

This article is about my experience and the shared experiences of Black women who have and continue to suffer from racist treatment and now policies that are attempting to address privilege and by-product of addiction to prescribed opiods.

Black women are rarely prescribed opiods to address our real and serious pain.

Where is your empathy for Black women who have and continue to suffer like me, my mother and other family and friends in brutal, agonizing pain due to medical bias and racism that literally treats animals better than us?
