My Newsbreak Heartbreak Election Edition: 3 Different Stories and Zero Reads
3 nonpartisan election stories got low to zero views in contrast to my 6,000+ average on other stories
Writing on Newsbreak
Just when I thought Newsbreak’s story distribution had returned to normal, I dared to publish 3 nonpartisan election stories.
I’m sharing this story because most of my article have been getting good engagement since August, averaging 4,000 views per story. I know those are not impressive stats, but that’s huge for a community writer who isn’t active on social media.
My election stories focused on time-sensitive voting deadlines and location information from our local and state election boards and vetted news sources.
I knew something was strange when the first story was flagged for “formatting” and stalled.
A few days later, I published a similar story with more information, making sure to double-check the formatting.
